Google came from the word "googol" which means 10 to the 100th power, which was then creatively altered by the creators of google from "googol" to google. There is no clear format that i can see that google falls into (if there is please leave a comment and tell me). However, google started as a name but as the use of the search engine grew and the name google became a verb. For example, "i'm going to google a recipe."
